Pilgrimage to Lourdes

About a month ago, with the participation of several members of our Church, we had a Pilgrimage to Lourdes. It was a very touching and rewarding experience.

We took the coach and left Paris during the evening so we could arrive at Lourdes early in the morning. After freshening up, we finally went to Lourdes, to visit the Sanctuary. It was an impressive place, with a lot of people. I thought to myself how amazing it was to see so much committed people, how they travelled across the country, the continent and even the world, just to be in this special place.

During the evening, I had the opportunity of attending the torchlight procession. We were all gathered in front of the Rosary Basilica, and we had to walk around the place with our torch. The ceremony included a lot of people of different languages and different ages.

The next day, we continued our touring of Lourdes. For my part, I was able to go through the Way of the Cross. All stations of the Cross were represented with life-size statues; so you could really put yourself in the shoes of someone during the time when Jesus was crucified.

I really enjoyed my time in Lourdes, and I encourage you to travel there as well if you’ve never had the chance. Lourdes is one of the most important landmarks in pilgrimage and tourism. Many miracles have happened there; you will surely experience the Lord’s grace and goodness!
